We want to thank all the die-hards that came
out to our shows on the Bloodletting North
America tour! Some great shows on that tour because of you
guys! Also major thanks goes out to Lance Wright who stepped up
to drum for us on this tour. Lance really came through with the
speed, stability and groove that Vile is known for. Thank you Lance!
Also, cheers to the cool dudes in all the other bands. It was a
pleasure! Be sure to check out a few of the new pictures in the pictures section.
Right now we're writing some new material
as well as looking for the best options for more touring. J.J. and
Mike are getting ready to record their second Divine
Rapture CD. Colin is writing some new Vile material at this
moment. Erlend is probably working on some kind of eight finger
tapping or something...Stay tuned.

The reviews are in! "The New Age of Chaos" is making a substantial mark on the death metal lanscape! Some excerpts from current reviews:
“Written and recorded by founding member and Death Metal producer Colin Davis, The New Age of Chaos is a precise, torturous Death Metal assault of the highest magnitude and a high water mark on the U.S. Death Metal scene.”
-
SOD Magazine
“VILE have managed to take their writing to the next level with this record, which is one of the best I have heard this year. The New Age of Chaos couples astonishing intensity with slower, more deliberate passages that are no less forceful. I hope I am not overstating things with the following observation: this is one of the only deathgrind records I have ever listened to that I could classify as “art” with a straight face.”
-
Metalreview.com
“There’s a forcefully classic death metal feel to much of Vile's third album, recalling many of the greats, from Morbid Angel through to Nile, and yet there's also a diversity here that previous efforts merely hinted at…… Wildly differing tempos come and go with dizzying disregard for listeners' comfort or sanity. It's all pregnant with future promise and very nasty indeed. High quality stuff.”
-
Kerrang
“Vile have crafted a unique sound of their own... 'The New Age Of Chaos' is a bold move for Vile and it will be interesting to see where they go from here.”.
-
Terrorizer
“Those hanging around the death metal insider's club have always known that VILE is a class act, one of the premiere bands on a Unique Leader roster that has little in the way of also-rans. "The New Age of Chaos" should bring VILE a new level of notoriety (at least in the death metal community), based primarily on a significant improvement in songwriting……There is a reason why bands like CANNIBAL CORPSE have been singing the praises of VILE. "The New Age of Chaos" should result in more folks singing the same tune.”
-
Blabbermouth.net
“30 minutes of very tight, engaging, brutal, blasting death and recorded with stunningly impeccable production.”
- Deadtide.com
“Ever since releasing Stench of the Deceased in 1999, Vile has been one of death metal’s bands-to-watch. Some six years later, that promise is about to be fulfilled…..It’s great to see that Vile is only getting stronger as time goes on, and there may be no stopping them from total domination now.”

_________________________________________________________ Vile's third full length CD entitled The New Age of Chaos is now out and in stores worldwide!! The European press has been highly complementary and we have been averaging an 8 or 9 out of 10 in the European print mags and web zines! We're now gearing up for a U.S. promotional campaign thanks to Dave Brenner and Earsplit PR. We have updated the PICS page with a new assortment of NAOC era photos that are in large JPG format that are suitable for print and web media. Also there are new web banners on the bottom of the BIO page if you are interested.
We're going to be touring Europe in April/May and are currently looking for our best options for a U.S. tour. As you may know, Vile is also in the process of recruiting some new members to make this new phase of touring possible and we plan on doing some west coast shows with them in January, 2006.
There is a new Vile forum at SMN News and a Vile music page on Myspace. Colin also has an Imperial Mastering recording and mastering forum at SMN as well. He has been busy mixing and mastering extreme metal at his home base in California. You can learn about what he does at the Imperial Mastering website.
JULY 13TH, 2005

_________________________________________________________ The New Age of Chaos is done. Now in the hands of Listenable records and we are preparing for an all out promotional and touring assault! Check the Media page for an Mp3 of the title track. Let us know what you think!

All tour info will be here and on the Tours page as it develops. Promoters interested in booking Vile, get in touch with Colin Davis through the Contact page or contact Listenable Records directly.

_________________________________________________________ Vile have uncovered some original copies of our first release "Stench of the Deceased". Check the MERCH page for info.
MAY 1ST, 2005
_________________________________________________________ Vile is in the final stages of mixing "The New Age of Chaos" and will be finished within 3 weeks. Unfortunately, the release will not be available untill September but it will be worth the wait! Fans of Vile will not be dissapointed! I think its got something in it for everyone. There are some insanely fast parts and some really slow stuff. Theres mid paced stuff and theres a lot of catchy hooks and grooves. The vocals are gigantic and soaring. Its memorable music that still kicks major ass and is true to the best American death metal. But it is new. I really think the music has a newness to it. I have been really influenced by the newest wave of black metal bands and even the Bay Area sound and you can hear them in this album. I dont think there is any way anyone will ever be able to say we sound like Cannibal Corpse anymore!!
Another thing that is new for us is that there is audible bass in this music now. Hearable and musical sounding bass guitar. Jack Gibson has been a friend of mine for many years. But he has mostly been into thrash oriented music. He and I always respected each other but just never had the chance to work together. Now circumstances have allowed this union and the music is all the better for it. We will also release one song from the album as an MP3 sampler but it is not known which one will be used at this time. It should be available here in a few weeks.
With respect to touring, there are plans in the works. We will definately be supporting Deeds of Flesh on the N. American Bloodletting 5 tour tentatively scheduled for October/November 2005. There are also plans for a European tour that will either take place immediately after that or in early 2006. One thing is for sure and that is that Vile will not be limited to the occasional tour anymore. At least two full tours per year will be the norm. Line- up changes are necessary to facilitate this but it will be the best thing for the band in the long run. There is a new line-up being formed now and I will update you when it is confirmed. Reno Kiillerich of Panzerchrist/Exmortem will be the touring drummer again though.
Also our studio drummer Tyson Jupin is featured in the current PIT Magazine Drum Corner column. He can be contacted for other interviews through the Contact page on this site.

MARCH 12TH, 2005
_________________________________________________________ Vile is now in the process of recording it's 3rd full length, "The New Age of Chaos". The album is scheduled for release in September 2005. Album line-up is Colin Davis-Guitars, Juan Urteaga-Vocals, Tyson Jupin-Drums-Jack Gibson-Bass. Jack is also the bassist for the classic thrash band Exodus. He brings a very profecient and professional sound to the band. We will have several surprise guest soloists. Polish master, GRAAL is designing the artwork.
Two full length tours are being planned now. There will be a full US and Canada headlining tour in July/August 2005 with fellow Unique Leader bands Psycroptic and Decrepit Birth. Then a European headlining tour in the fall that is being planned for now.
Band line-up for the tours will be announced shortly. James Lee of Origin is the official touring vocalist at this time.
NOV. 30TH, 2005
_________________________________________________________ Vile will be entering Trident Studios March 1st to record our 3rd full length CD. Release date will be May/June 2004 on Listenable Records. We also have a new pre-production demo song called Deafening Silence that you can download to hear what the new material sounds like. Let us know what you think! Also we still have a bit of merchandise available from the last US tour with the tour dates on the back and we can offer you a killer price on that stuff. Also worth mentioning, Colin has a new website for his mastering and mixing studio at www.imperialmastering.com Check it out and get in touch if you need audio production work of any kind.
JULY 5TH, 2005
_________________________________________________________ The new Vile album is in the works. Four new songs have been written and we are about to record a 2 song demo for promotional purposes. We probably wont release this demo but we might put one of the songs into MP3 format and put it on the site. Stay tuned... We plan on entering Trident Studios in December and to release the album in Spring of 2005. Touring will follow. We probably wont tour until then unless something really big is offered, but we'll see what happens. Right now writing and recording is the main priority.
Band line-up is slightly up in the air but we assure you that you will not be dissapointed. Vile quality control is still on high as usual! Also we will announce the album title and some of the song names within the next two months. Artist Graal will do the cover and layout again.
MARCH 23RD, 2005
_________________________________________________________ Vile*ating America was a huge success for us! Finally a full US tour! Got to hit the East Coast for the first time. Amazing shows everywhere. Thanks to Cannibal Corpse, the coolest band in the world for taking us along! We couldn't have asked for a better tour and all the dudes in the other bands were killer as well. Also a big thanks goes out to Goya the tour manager for doing sound for us and being super cool and professional. Hopefully we can go out with these guys again. Huge thanks to all the people that came out early to catch our set! We wont forget you! Anyway were going to be working on hooking up another U.S. and or European tour for the end of the year. Also it's worth mentioning again that Vile is still looking for permenant band members. Super thanks to guitarist Luke Jaeger, singer James Lee and drummer Reno Kiilerich for making this tour happen for us but we need permanent guys! Get in touch about this subject if you think you can do it.
Colin is working on new material now and we are planning on releasing the third Vile album in early 2005. Will keep you posted on the progress. Check out the pics page as there are a bunch of new tour pics up. Later....
JAN. 2ND, 2004

Were doing the opening slot so try to get there early. We will be going on around 8 pm most nights. Check the clubs for specific details. Other bands will be Exhumed and Hypocrisy. Were going to have all the merch we have listed on this site with us as well. Band lineup will include original members Colin Davis and Matt Faivre as well as Origin vocalist James Lee, Denmark's Reno Kiilerich on drums and new lead guitarist Lucas Jaeger. Prepare for an ultra devastating set as we hit the whole U.S. and finally play the East coast for the first time!
OCT. 30TH, 2003
_________________________________________________________ Great news. Vile is going to be the opening act on the upcoming Cannibal Corpse tour. Tour goes from Feb 13 through March 13. The whole US is included but we didnt see any Canadian dates in there unfortunately. Dont know why. The member status is up in the air as usual though and we are definately looking for someone to replace Aaron on guitar for this tour. Contact us if you have info pertaining to this.
New songs are in the works. Colin has 2 now and will slowly but surely get another Vile album done against all odds. Juan is buying a 60 channel Neve V3 console for Trident Studios and we will definately do the new Vile album on that console. Were going to make sure the new album is even more sonically perfect than past efforts.
Colin is also pressing ahead with Imperial Mastering and is looking for new artists to produce or master all the time. www.imperialmastering.com
AUG. 17TH, 2003
_________________________________________________________ Vile takes another hit. Longtime guitarist Aaron Strong has resigned from the band. Our last tour was quite successful and hinted at what the future holds for Vile. It was this realization that caused vocalist Juan Urteaga and now Aaron Strong to leave their positions in the band. It becomes more and more obvious as time goes on that playing this music is a lifestyle and not just a pastime. As the band becomes more popular the demand on the musicians becomes higher. The band must come before EVERYTHING to make this work. People that are not commited to making this project the number one priority in their lives, eventually must leave the band. We will surely miss the talented contributions of these two members.
Vile is obviously looking for replacements for these positions. If there is anyone that is willing and able to take either of these spots, first listen to our music and then decide if you have what it takes to meet or exceed the contributions of the former players. Contact guitarist Colin Davis through the contact page and we can arrange a try-out. We are looking for permanant members but will also consider working with someone on a touring only basis.
In the meantime, Colin Davis is working on new material for the next Vile album scheduled to be recorded and released in Summer/Fall of 2004.
JUNE 21ST, 2003
_________________________________________________________ Vile shows are confirmed for our California mini tour! We couldn't secure an Oregon gig so it wasn't worth it to drive 20 hours for the Seattle show. Deeds of Flesh is still headlining that show though. Vile will play in Reno NV instead. Check the tours page for all the show info. Also we have posted some new pics from out last show of the European tour. Check them out here. Well post more eventually on the pics page.
JUNE 13TH, 2003
_________________________________________________________ A west coast mini tour is being booked. Six shows including San Diego, Los Angeles, San Luis Obispo, Bay Area, Seattle, and another unconfirmed. The first show will be July 11th. Check the tour page for all the info. The Vile line-up will be original with the exception of vocalist James Lee(Origin). Drummer Tyson Jupin (Depopulate recording), will be shredding the skins. These shows will warm up James and prepare Vile for a full North American assault in the Winter/Spring of 2004. All our merch except Beenies are in stock. Copies of our albums are available in stores or can be ordered there. Listenable has re-released our first CD "Stench of the Deceased" with enhanced artwork, re-mastering and bonus tracks.
The following is an official statement from the band:
"Vile as a band has changed in different ways in the past several years. Some original band members decided to leave the band and this started a reaction of instability. Recently original vocalist Juan Urteaga left the band to focus on his career as a recording engineer/producer. Rotating drummers have also caused the progress of Vile to be hindered. Colin Davis has been the one member of the band that has always been there. You can say that if Colin were to leave, the band would not continue. And it is correct to assume that as long as Colin decides to play music(foreseeable future), Vile will be an ever growing and changing musical outlet for him. Vile is going to continue, business as usual. But the best way for the band to achieve the kind success it deserves is to be comprised of hungry, dedicated, talented individuals. If there are other death metal musicians that have what it takes to play in Vile, and have the willingness to live in California and properly commit to the cause, we invite you to contact us with your offer. All positions could at some point in time be available. And it is our intention to solidify the group as soon as possible."
MAY 12TH, 2003
_________________________________________________________ Juan is out! Our longtime vocalist Juan Urteaga has officially quit the band. We have known for some time that this was due to occur soon. The Violating Europe tour signified the end of his career with Vile. As many of you know Juan owns and operates Trident Studios. He is very busy with recording and also with his family obligations. He doesn't believe that he will be able to fulfill our touring requirements so he has stepped down to make way for someone who can fulfill all the tasks. In the meantime we will be joined by James Lee of Origin to do our upcoming tours. One will be a West Coast mini tour this summer and then a full US tour at the end of this year or beginning of 2004. Best of luck to our longtime friend Juan Urteaga in any and all of his future endeavors.
APRIL 21ST, 2003
_________________________________________________________ Back from tour! 19 shows across western Europe and every one kicked ass! Thanks to all the bands we played with, Disavowed, Mangled, Spawn of Possession and Inhume. Also huge thanks to Rob Peeters for managing the tour. We're currently working on new material and of course working with fill in drummers untill we can get one to permanantly join. We'll also do some west coast shows this summer and hopefully something else in the US, but dont hold your breath! Depopulate is doing we'll for us and is available everywhere. If you dont see it on the rack, just order it!
JAN. 20TH, 2003
_________________________________________________________ European Tour dates confirmed or scheduled. Violating Europe is coming up quickly. More dates have been booked. See our Tours page for the new dates. Were looking forward to absolutely destroying you when we show up in your area! Also Reno Kiilerich, our tour drummer is busy learning the full set and is working out very well. He also just won the Worlds Fastest Feet competition at the NAMM show in Los Angelos this past weekend. This guy is smoking! Check www.extremesportdrumming.com for more info on the competitions.
JAN. 9TH, 2003
_________________________________________________________ We are going to be playing 2 warm up shows in the Bay Area before our European tour. Jan 31 and Feb 15. Both with Severed Savior, one with Psypheria(Feb 15) and one with Disgorge(Jan 31). Check the tours page for all the info. All the confirmed tour dates are on this page as well. We have a lot of new merch now also and we'll have it at our shows too. Also get in touch if you are a European promoter and are interested in booking this tour.
NOV. 25TH, 2002
_________________________________________________________ Lots going on at the Vile camp. We have received a shipment of merchandise. We have T-shirts, long sleeves, hoodies and beanies available. All the shirts have the new album art. Check out the Merch page for all the info.
EUROPEAN TOUR CONFIRMED! Vile will headline Unique Leader’s Gutting Europe III tour in 2003. We’ll be going out with Mangled, Disavowed, Inhume and Spawn of Possession. All the bands are awesome. This will be Vile’s first time in Europe. The tour starts February 20 and ends March 16. Countries we will be hitting include Holland, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Switzerland, Spain, France, Portugal, and Checz Republic. We will put the dates on the Tours page as soon as they’re available. We will also tour the U.S. and Canada sometime during the summer of 2003.
Until recently drummer problems have plagued the band. Luckily for us we now have some incredible players that will take turns shredding the skins for us on tour and hopefully one will settle into the position permanently. San Diego’s Tyson Jupin is the drummer on Depopulate and he will play for us on an upcoming North American tour. Tyson is an incredible player. Check out the album to hear for yourself. We have also recently confirmed that the drums on the European tour will be handled by one of death metal's most incredible players, Reno Kiilerich. True death metal fans have heard his skills on albums by Panzerchrist, Exmortem, and Human Erupt. Hats off to Reno for coming through for us and to guarantee that Vile will absolutely ANNIHILATE with us in Europe!! Finally, we want to welcome Ramon Ochoa to the Vile camp. Ramon is kicking some major ass out here in the Bay Area and he will handle the drums for us on some upcoming Vile shows that we will eventually book in California.
AUG. 5TH, 2002
